Ok, the title of the post is misleading. This is more like the 2min review.
The Nike Lunarspider LT+ 3 was launched in Spring 2013 here in Singapore but we only picked up the new colour for the Fall 2013 season. If you’ve followed this blog, you’ll know that I am a huge fan of the Lunarspider LT+ 2. So I’ll admit that I was initially rather skeptical about the new iteration of one of my favourite shoes.
This review is especially quick because once I slipped the LT+ 3 on, I knew I liked them. They weigh about the same as the previous model did. The upper has a look that is consistent with the rest of the shoes in Nike’s 2013 range. It does away with the very plastic-looking flywire and goes with the newer dynamic flywire. Yes, it looks like a couple of strings tied to the shoe, by the dynamic flywire does a very good job at holding down the midfoot.
I hopped on the treadmill and it felt like being reacquainted with an old friend. The response of the Lunarspider range is excellent and the LT+ 3 continues that tradition. A couple of strides in and the shoes feel fast. Cushioning is ample and each foot strike is crisp. I’d have no 2nd thoughts about training in these shoes straight way.
The Lunarspider LT+ 3 is a great lightweight trainer, especially for those track session or up tempo runs. With the Lunarlon cushioning, you’ll do fine using these on a long run as well, but they really excel when it’s time to go FAST.
The Nike Lunarspider LT+ 3 runs true to size and is available from sizes US 7.0 – US 12.0.
It is available now at The Runner’s Gait and retails for $219.
